Edinburgh: 6.89kWp solar, 10kWh libbi battery & eddi hot water.
A complete intelligent home energy system — solar PV across pitched slate and flat roofs, battery storage in the loft, and surplus generation diverted into hot water before anything is exported.

Overview
Eastern Electric installed a complete domestic solar PV and battery storage system for a homeowner in Edinburgh.
The system included 13 × Longi Hi-MO X10 530W dual-glass bifacial solar panels, a 5kW myenergi libbi inverter, 10kWh of myenergi libbi battery storage, and a myenergi eddi immersion diverter.
The objective was to reduce the homeowner's electricity bills as close to zero as possible during the summer months — storing surplus solar in the battery, diverting excess energy into hot water once the battery was fully charged, and exporting only what was left after that.

The challenge
- • Reduce grid electricity use during summer months
- • Store surplus solar energy for evening and night-time use
- • Heat hot water using excess solar once the battery is full
- • Export only after household, battery and hot water demand is met
- • Provide simple system monitoring through one app
- • Install battery storage safely in the loft with suitable fire detection
The solution
- • Self-consumption prioritised over export
- • Battery in the loft with fire detection as standard
- • Single-app visibility of PV, battery, grid and hot water
- • Mixed roof mounting handled on one install

"Eastern Electric (Scotland) Ltd installed thirteen 530 watt solar panels and a 10kWh myenergi libbi battery system in my home. The service was excellent from start to finish and I am very pleased with the system which has now been installed. Brian attended both to quote and to install the system. His knowledge of the product was excellent and he talked me through all aspects of the system, answering the questions that I had. Communication was clear and quick when planning the works in. Installation was completed as planned and workmanship is of an excellent standard. The site was left spotless and during installation, protection was put down on all floorings. I would certainly recommend Eastern Electric (Scotland) Ltd."
